Dear Customer:

Welcome to the new LifeGrid Internet monthly newsletter.  We will be using our newsletter for multiple purposes.  As technology and equipment change, we want to quickly inform you of upcoming changes you may need to make within your own email accounts or web sites to accommodate the changes.  In addition, should there be any scheduled outages due to equipment upgrades or potential virus threats – this newsletter will notify you immediately.  Look for this and important technology information in our “Tech Corner”.

We will also be reminding you of all of the services LifeGrid Internet provides so we can be your single source for data connectivity, email and web hosting, design and marketing.

Recently we included an offer in our monthly statements for free web site consultation for Search Engine Optimization.  Due to the overwhelming response, we’re extending this offer through the end of the year.  We want all LifeGrid Internet customers to be on the front pages of the search engines.  If you’ve invested money in a web site – let us make sure it’s seen!!!

Please feel free to provide feedback about our newsletter or send a suggestion of information you’d like us to include in future issues.

Thank you for your patronage – we appreciate the opportunity to provide you GREAT service!

P.S. Don't forget we have the best prices in town for business class DSL with dedicated IP addresses. Great for remote access to your office, from your home, and better security!

Tech Corner:  Last week we notified you that we would be upgrading equipment. To explain – in order to “keep up with” all of the spammers out there, all Internet Service Providers need to deploy more and more anti-spam software. Most companies simply install new software. LifeGrid Internet goes above and beyond and installs completely new servers. Our new servers are equipped with the latest and greatest anti-spam controls - look for the difference!

Good Cause of the Month

Good Cause Focus of the Month:

I have a good friend whose son spent most of 2006 in Ramadi (he’s back in Germany now).  She brought to my attention a new organization in Indiana called Blue Star Moms which is actually part of a National organization, Blue Star Mothers of America that was founded in 1942.  Their mission is:  “to provide support for active duty personnel and their families, promote patriotism and assist in efforts to keep our country strong and morale high for our serving personnel.”  Blue Star Moms regularly send personalized boxes of toiletries, snacks, reading material and cheer to our troops overseas.

Back “home” the Roudebush VA Medical Center has a new PolyTrauma floor that provides medical and rehabilitation services to soldiers who have been injured in Iraq.  Specifically formed due to the number of troops with unique injuries caused by roadside bombings, this unit focuses on those who have multiple traumas to head, back or limbs.

Both groups are collecting the following items to be distributed to those serving or who have served our country:

  • Gift cards:  gas, phone, grocery, fast food or large chain store ($10 - $25 only).

  • Clothing:  sweat shirts & pants, undergarments (sizes M – 2X), socks, hats, gloves and scarves (new items only).

  • Books:  mysteries, westerns, war stories (paperback only).

  • Toiletries:  shaving cream, oral care, soaps (travel size only).

Hand held games can also be donated to help those in rehabilitation or movie theater tickets to be used specifically to help soldiers with brain injuries re-acclimate back into society.  Winter items are needed to give to the homeless veterans that randomly show up at the clinic cold and hungry.

If you or your company would like to donate, please contact me, Donna Batten and I will assist in delivery or direct you to the proper person.

I hope you will visit both sites to learn more:
